Uganda Hot Springs

Visiting Uganda hot springs

Visiting Uganda hot springs takes you to the heart of Tooro – the ancient and breathtaking Hot Springs.  Join one of our expert tour guides to learn about this unique geological wonder, Toro’s fascinating history and the connection the Batoro people have had with their country for thousands of years into the present day.

Hot springs are naturally occurring geothermal bodies of water heated by underground volcanic magma. Uganda is a real hot spot for these soothing springs! Tourists can come to these natural spas to relax and unwind reaping the benefits of these endemic wonders.

Uganda boosts with 7 major hot springs that attract a number of guests on their visit to Uganda safaris and these include; Kitagata Hot springs, Sempaya hot spring, Rwagimba hot spring, Amoropii Hot springs, Burring hot springs, Ihamba hot springs and Kibiro hot springs.

Temperatures within the springs range from 77 °F (25 °C) to 122 °F (50 °C). A thermal river (heated by the volcano) flows in two main channels. Pulled by gravity, the river pools in some places and trips over waterfalls in others. There is a cold river that winds through the property as well, offering up cooler pools that contrast nicely with the hot springs.

Hot springs are therapeutic to the body not only as a form of relaxation, but also to help increase blood flow, metabolism, circulation, and absorption of essential minerals. A perfect way to end a day of a safari, hiking or other exciting adventure activities. Visiting Uganda hot springs is real tipping to your Uganda tip. Many of our Uganda hot spring tours are accompanied by other activities, including mud baths, massages, horseback rides, wildlife safaris, and more.

Several eco-lodges and resorts built near hot springs allow you to enjoy their natural beauty and comfort surrounded by lush rainforests.
