Enjoy a 14-day Uganda student tour, with a chance to learn about the vibrant culture, participate in volunteer projects, and explore the stunning wildlife at Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 1. Today’s the day! We’re off to Uganda – let the adventure begin! Join us for our flight from Heathrow to Entebbe International Airport.

Day 2: Welcome to Entebbe International Airport – let’s get you to Kampala!
Upon turning up at the airport, you’ll be joyfully welcomed by your Tour Guide from Msafiri Tours, who will drive you to Kampala. You’ll go through Entebbe to the captivating, enigmatic, energetic and charming Kampala, sure to leave you in awe!
Your first night in Uganda is at the hotel in Kampala.
This hotel has free wifi, air conditioning and a pool for your comfort.
Day 3: Kampala.
Start your morning in paradise with breakfast by the pool. After lunch, explore the sights and sounds of Kampala on a City Tour, including a visit to Idi Amin’s torture chambers (optional) and the Gadaffi Mosque. End the afternoon at a craft market to barter with local artisans. Then, head to Ndere Cultural Centre to experience the magical beauty of African traditional music and dance. A BBQ dinner will be provided and the show will last for over 3 hours. Spend the night in a comfortable sleep at Eureka Place Hotel in Ntinda, Kampala. Join us for an incredible journey!
Day 4: Let’s head to Iganga!
Join us bright and early as we depart for Iganga. We’ll start the day with a tasty fruit breakfast then head off. We will have a stop in the beautiful and protected Mabira Rainforest, with its towering trees and many bird species. We’ll take in the majestic views of the 1km wide Owen Falls Dam (Nalubaale), and the source of Uganda’s electricity from the White Nile.
We’ll enjoy an energizing lunch in Jinja Town, before heading to the luxuriant Mum Resort Hotel for a dip, some chill time and a delectable dinner. Come and enjoy the experience with us!
Day 5: Let’s make a difference in Busu Village Projects, Iganga.
Feeling excited to explore Busu Village? After a delicious breakfast, we’ll hop in the Vans and head to Busu for a tour. You’ll meet the staff and project leaders, and split into groups to get to know the group you’ll be working with. We’ve got your lunch covered, and by evening we’ll be back at the hotel for dinner. Let’s get ready to have a blast!
Day 6: Busu, Iganga.
Start the day right with a delicious breakfast at the hotel, and then we head to Busu and spend the day making a difference! Help improve village facilities and get to know their way of life better. Plus, we’ll provide a packed lunch to keep you going. In the evening, we’ll be heading back to the hotel for dinner.
Day 7: Busu, Iganga.
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we returned to Busu for the day, continuing our village projects and getting to know the locals better. A hearty lunch will be provided and we will come back to the hotel for dinner this evening.
Day 8: Busu, Iganga.
Spend the day with us in Busu and get an up-close and personal look into village life! Breakfast will kick off the day and a packed lunch will be provided. At the end of the day, join us for dinner and share stories of your experiences.
Day 9: Let’s do it! Join us today for Busu, then we’ll head back to Kampala.
After a delicious breakfast, it’s time to get back to Busu for our final day in the village! We’ll wrap up our projects, get any last-minute things done, and say our goodbyes to the new friends we’ve made. After that, we’ll make our way back to the hotel to get organized, with a lunch stop in Jinja. Then it’s off to Kampala for an evening of dinner and restful sleep.
Day 10: Take a trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park in Kasese, it will be so much fun!
Your two-day wildlife safari starts with your guide picking you up after breakfast. You’ll be briefed about the tour and off you go in a 6-hour drive. During the drive, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to take breaks and photos at the Equator, have lunch in Mbarara town, explore Ankole culture at the Igongo Cultural Centre, and arrive at the Simba Safari Lodge for dinner. In the evening, you’ll be taken on a tour around the Crater Lake region to observe traditional salt industries and mining methods. Then it’s back to the Simba Safari Lodge for the night, just 4 miles from the Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 11: Explore Queen Elizabeth National Park!
Start your day with a fresh cup of tea and take a game-viewing drive at Mweya Peninsula, where the Kazinga Channel divides Lake George and Lake Edward. You could spot jackals, bushbucks, forest hogs, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, lions, Uganda Kobs, and bush pigs. After a hearty breakfast, you can enjoy some rest and relaxation by the pool. After lunch, go for a memorable launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel – you may see buffaloes, hippos, elephants, and crocodiles – and a variety of bird species. In the evening, return to The Simba Safari Lodge for dinner and a restful sleep.
Day 12: Ready for the journey? Today, we’re headed back to Kampala!
Enjoy your morning breakfast before embarking on an unforgettable journey back to Kampala. Keep your eyes peeled as you drive through Maramagambo Forest – you never know what kind of animals you may spot! Don’t forget to take a break for lunch before finally arriving at your destination. Spend the night at the Hotel Kampala and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Day 13: Today’s the last day – let’s head to Entebbe Airport!
Today is dedicated to airport transfers to Entebbe International Airport. Times to be confirmed.
Day 14: Arrival home.
