Day three: Transfer to Kihihi/Kisoro Airstrip for your internal flight back to Entebbe
Day 1: On day one, you will be flown to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Your designated guide will collect you and take you to Entebbe Airport for your domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, landing either at Kihihi (for the northern and eastern parts of Bwindi NP) or Kisoro Airstrip (for the southern region of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park). Upon arrival, you will be driven to the lodge where you will be staying overnight. The choice to fly in the morning or afternoon is yours. Morning flights to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park leave Entebbe at 7:45 am, while afternoon flights depart at 15:30. There is only one morning flight from Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip for the southern part of Bwindi NP, departing daily at 7:45 am due to strong winds in the area. The internal flights to Bwindi NP typically take one to one and a half hours, depending on the day’s routing. The meal plan includes breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Accommodation options are Mahogany Springs or Nkuringo Gorilla Camp. The flight duration is between one to one and a half hours.
Day 2: Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
In the early morning, after having breakfast with your packed lunch, you will proceed to the Park headquarters for registration. Here, you will join fellow trackers for a briefing on the necessary guidelines and protocols for Gorilla Tracking at 7:45 am. Accompanied by your guides, you will journey through dense vegetation, including thick creepers and undergrowth, in search of the Gorillas. This expedition can last anywhere from half an hour to three quarters of the day. Despite the challenging terrain of the steeply forested landscape, the numerous animal trails provide convenient access for tourists. The experience of being in the presence of these captivating yet endangered creatures is truly remarkable.
Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner.
Accommodation: Mahogany Springs or Nkuringo Gorilla Camp
On Day 3: You’ll fly back to Entebbe after enjoying breakfast.
Our guide will then take you to Kihihi/Kisoro for your internal flight returning to Entebbe International Airport. Depending on your travel plans, you can either depart Uganda or extend your stay to further explore the diverse regions of the country. This concludes your 3-day safari experience flying in to see the gorillas.
This safari is tailored for those with limited time desiring to experience gorilla trekking in Uganda. It eliminates the lengthy drives from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will enjoy a 1.5-hour flight followed by approximately the same duration in road transfers from Kihihi airstrip to Buhoma.
