Day 1: Explore Kampala’s Rich Cultural Heritage
Right after your breakfast, our guide-driver will collect you from your hotel to explore Kampala’s cultural sites. Immerse yourself in the history of Uganda and its kingdoms as you visit iconic sites such as the Kasubi tombs, the Bahai temple, the Kabaka’s lake, and the Uganda Museum. At the Ndere Cultural center, you’ll be entertained by traditional dances and performances. Later, dine and rest for the night at your hotel.
Today is Day 2 of your journey, and we are off to Jinja! Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to the Uganda Martyrs Shrines in Namugongo, where you can learn about the harrowing history of the martyrs. Then, you’ll travel to Jinja and explore Sezibwa Falls, a stunning cultural site with ties to the Buganda Kingdom. When you arrive at Jinja, prepare for an amazing experience. Take in the power of the White Nile, seven times the size of the Zambezi and the longest river in Africa. Visit the majestic Bujagali Falls and marvel at the shimmering rapids of the Nile as it winds through the rocks. Don’t miss the chance to see the source of the Nile and imagine its long journey across the continent. Afterwards, return to Kampala for dinner and a good night’s rest.
Day 3: Transfer to Fort Portal.
After a nourishing breakfast, take a drive to Fort Portal and take a stop at the revered Nakayima tree in Mubende. There, you will be regaled with the captivating tales of the profound history behind the remarkable tree. Afterwards, proceed to Fort Portal for a delightful dinner and overnight stay.
Day 4: Cultural Tour Extravaganza!
Today we will be embarking on a cultural journey at the “Amabeere ga Nyinamwiru”, translated as Breasts of Nyinamwiru. Learn about the history of this amazing site, explore the Karambi tombs and the King’s palace. Later in the day, take a stroll to the nearby villages and get a glimpse of the community life. End the day with a delicious meal at your hotel, followed by a restful sleep.
Day 5: Engaging in chimpanzee tracking and transfer to QENP.
After an early breakfast, set out engaging in chimpanzee tracking within Kibale national park, and afterwards drive to Queen Elizabeth national park arriving in the afternoon for a launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. This boat ride will reward you with sights of elephants, hippos, buffalos and crocodile plus numerous water birds. Dine and slumber at Mweya safari Lodge.
Day 6: Have an exciting game drive and drive to Mbarara. Now, you will have an early morning game drive to witness lions, hyenas, elephants, leopards, bush bucks and water hogs and many more. In the day, drive to Mbarara, where you will eat and rest at Lake View Hotel.
Day 7: Visit the Banyankole Cultural sites and return to Kampala
After an early breakfast you will visit some cultural sites within Mbarara like the Banyankole Kingdom shrines, take part in some Banyankole homesteads to further learn about their captivating culture, lifestyle and their general practices, and then visit orphanage homes plus women groups. Following lunch, drive back to the capital stopping by the Equator to stand in 2 hemispheres at the same time and take some pictures, and also stop at the Mpambire drum village for by some crafts as keepsakes. On arrival in Kampala you will be transferred to the airport or taken to your hotel for dinner and the overnight basing on your travel arrangements. This will be the end of our 7 Days engaging experience in Uganda.
