Flexible Medical Volunteering in Uganda

At Msafiri Tours, we understand that everyone’s schedule and availability are different. That’s why we offer flexible healthcare volunteering opportunities in Uganda:

• Short-Term: Volunteers can join us for 1 week to experience life-changing healthcare work and contribute to ongoing projects.

• Medium-Term: A 2-week placement allows deeper involvement in patient care, health education, and community initiatives.

• Long-Term: Volunteers staying longer than 2 weeks can take on more responsibilities, support complex projects, and gain extensive hands-on experience in Uganda’s healthcare system.

Medical Camps in Uganda – Make a Bigger Impact

Beyond day-to-day volunteering, we also organize medical outreach camps in rural communities where access to healthcare is limited. These camps provide essential medical services, health education, and medicines to hundreds of people who might otherwise go without care.

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome volunteers with a range of backgrounds:

• Qualified medical professionals: Doctors, nurses, dentists, physical therapists, and other providers.

• Pre-health and aspiring volunteers: Students and individuals seeking hands-on experience.

Requirements:

• Minimum age: 18 years

• Minimum commitment: 1 week (2+ weeks recommended)

• Proof of academics/professional training

• Bring scrubs, stethoscope, and closed-toed shoes

• Flexible, hard-working, and positive attitude

Your level of involvement depends on:

• Duration of the program

• Your skills and experience

• Ability to connect with the community

Volunteer Activities

Healthcare volunteers may be involved in:

• Conducting patient interviews and histories

• Taking vital signs

• Observing medical procedures (ENT, prenatal care, vaccinations, etc.)

• Presenting patient information to local medical staff

• Conducting public health screenings and HIV prevention education

Schedule:

• 3–4 hours/day, Monday to Friday

• Morning or afternoon shifts depending on the project

Our programs are transparent and affordable, with fees covering:

• Accommodation (usually 2 per room)

• Daily meals

Starting fees:

• $202 USD per week

• €173 Euros per week

Typical 2-week mission trip costs range between £1,800–£2,500; longer trips average around £3,000.
