Requirements for Elective placements for medical students in Uganda
Firstly, it’s crucial to ensure that you have completed the necessary academic prerequisites before embarking on a medical electives internship in Uganda. In addition to academic requirements, medical elective internships in Uganda may have specific language proficiency requirements. Another vital requirement for medical electives internships in Uganda is obtaining the appropriate visa and work permit. Criteria for Internship opportunities in Uganda for medical students

- We require a letter from your college or employer confirming that you are presently taking a health care program or are a health care professional.
- We also need these documents for those only taking an elective medical internship and who wish to participate in our weekly community health fairs.
Travel Insurance
- We include 12-month multi-trip travel insurance within our program cost. If you prefer, you can use another travel insurance policy you have
- We need to see proof of your travel insurance. For your well-being, it is a compulsory requirement of our program.
The insurance policy should provide essential cover which includes:
- Accident medical expense coverage.
- Illness medical expense coverage.
- Emergency medical evacuation coverage.
- Baggage & personal effects loss coverage.
- Twelve months of insurance coverage.
- Multiple trips of up to 90 days
Proof of vaccinations
The vaccines required are Yellow fever, Hepatitis A, Hepatitis B.
The following vaccines are optional for Trujillo but are recommended for those travelling to certain areas of Uganda. These vaccines are Malaria, Rabies, and Typhoid.
